For those who want to learn more about astronomy, Urania organizes a number of courses. Young and older people can choose among a number of weekly lessons for abolute beginners as well as veterans.

• Astronomy basics:
  This rather theoretical course gives a complete overview of astronomy.

• Meteorology basics:
  Learn about the parameters determining our weather.

• Telescope making course:
  During this course, you learn to grind and polish mirrors yourself in order to build your own telescope.

• Practical astronomy course:
  Practical lessons aimed towards stargazing.

• Day course on astronomy:
  An introduction to astronomy for those who are available during daytime.

• Youth astronomy course:
  Explains the basics of astronomy, with a large attention to practice. For youngsters of 12 to 15.

• Seminars on astronomy:
  Specialists give a thorough theoretical discussion of some selected aspects concerning astronomy. The topics and the speakers change every year. For the veteran amateur astronomer.

• Astrochildren:
  An astronomy course for children.

• Sometimes, Urania also organises courses for other organisations.

• Most courses take place weekly (in parallel with the academic year). Sometimes also shorter courses are organised. For subscriptions, just come and see us at the beginning of a particular course or mail us.

• In order to follow a course, you first have to register as an Urania member.

• For some courses there is a textbook, which is not included in the course fee.
